What is "Psychotherapy"?
"Psychotherapy" is fancy name for "mental health therapy", "talk therapy", or "counseling". We offer therapy in a 50-minute format in which the client (you) and the therapist (me) meet one-on-one in a quiet, private, comfortable office space. Counseling is a perfect fit to help you learn more about the "how"s and "why"s of what's troubling you: depression, anxiety, grief, etc. This kind of therapy is also a perfect fit for working through trauma, family relationships, and all of the other things that haunt us from our past. We'll work towards understanding more about how your brain works, learn some new skills to help you overcome some of the obstacles you're facing, and get you plugged back into living a meaningful, fulfilling life.

EMDR
"Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy". EMDR is a trauma therapy (with a big fancy name) that helps us keep the trauma of the past more firmly in the past. This therapy is a powerful treatment for trauma, flashbacks, nightmares, and anxiety.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness is paying attention, on purpose, without judgement. It's that last one that's the hardest! Mindfulness is a tool and practice that is incredibly useful in working with trauma, chronic pain, depression, and way more!
DBT
"Dialectical Behavior Therapy". This form of therapy is the gold standard for self-harm, suicide, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. We'll learn skills geared towards maintaining safety in crisis, managing difficult emotions, and building meaningful relationships.
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
Believe it or not, the traumas of the past often get stored in our body. The "ACE"s Study showed us that over time, these traumas can be linked to all kinds of health conditions like fibromyalgia, chronic pain, heart disease, and more!
Cognitive Behavior Therapy
"CBT" is one of the gold standards of therapy. It's based on the idea that our thoughts effect our emotions, which in turn effect our behavior and vice-versa. If we learn to notice and work with our thoughts, that has a big impact on how we feel and what we're able to do.
