About Us
Bridging The Gap
Between Mind and Body.
Addressing both the mind and the body in mental healthcare is crucial! Our mental and emotional states are closely linked to our physical health, and vice versa. By taking a holistic approach, mental healthcare can help individuals achieve optimal wellness and improve their overall quality of life.

Why Mind The gap?
We work hard to take the"mystery" out of therapy. Our clinicians use evidence-based interventions and assessments to ensure we're making progress towards the goals that are the most important to you!
Here's the 3 things that set Mind The Gap apart:
01
Feedback Informed Care
Your experience in therapy matters! Our clinicians will ask you to complete simple, evidence-based rating scales at every session assessing progress towards your goals and the quality of care provided by your therapist. This keeps us on our "A" game and allows you to see the progress you're making with every session!
02
Real Results, Real Quick
Maybe you've been to therapy before and found yourself wondering: "Am I actually getting better?" Well, we take the guesswork out of healing. Our team consistently assess and charts your symptoms to double-down on what's working, troubleshoot what's not, and help you create a change you can see!
03
You're In Control
Our clinic utilizes a user-friendly client portal that puts you in control of your own healthcare. Through this portal, you can schedule/reschedule appointments, directly message your therapist, pay outstanding balances, and more! This allows us to empower our clients while reducing obstacles to quality mental healthcare.
Our
Story
A love story between two people, their passion, and their community.
Get to Know Us
In 2016, we moved to Nashville to attend graduate school. Kaylin went to Belmont University for her Master's in Occupational Therapy and Dakota went to Vanderbilt University for his Master's in Human Development Counseling. We fell in love a second time: with the Middle Tennessee Community.
After graduation in 2016, we each began our careers anew. Kaylin developed the first occupational therapy program of its kind in the entire nation by implementing OT services in a recovery court setting. Dakota began an interdisciplinary practice, seeing mental health clients in a medical setting. It was in these places that we ran into the same problem.

Health professions traditionally exist in silos: isolated from one another and deeply specialized. This isn't inherently a bad thing, but it means that important pieces of our clients overall healthcare slipped through the gaps between services. So an idea was born: to offer mental health services that spanned the space between mental and physical domains. OT is often utilized in a physical health setting and counseling is primarily utilized in a mental health setting. By combining and collaborating, we weave together a safety net.

We invite you to join us in cultivating a soft landing place for all those that slip through the gaps in our healthcare system. We invite you to help us Mind The Gap.
FAQ's
Where Does Therapy Take Place?
Our practitioners have dedicated their lives to helping children, adults, and adolescents heal from the pain of their past, navigate the challenges of the present, and grow towards lives that bring them joy and fulfillment. You or your child may be dealing with chronic pain, depression, trauma, behavior problems, parenting difficulties, or just feel lost or stuck, and that’s okay. We provide in-person, holistic therapy services from our office in Murfreesboro, TN. Can't come to us? We'll come to you to provide in-home therapy services anywhere in the Rutherford County area.
Can We Meet Online?
In the wake of the Covid pandemic, most people want to know whether we offer therapy exclusively online or if we see clients in person. The short answer: both. Some people are eager to share the same space with others again. Others have rearranged their lives and careers for an online world. Either way, accessible, affordable therapy services have never been more important! We offer in-person and online therapy sessions through a HIPPA compliant, secure video platform. Telehealth offers clients flexible scheduling options outside normal office hours and can be accessed from any web-connected device.
What Are Your Prices?
Therapy shouldn't break the bank. Our session fees range between $25-$125 per therapy hour.
Do You Accept Insurance?
While we do not accept insurance, we do offer a limited number of sliding scale spots. We also accept HSAs, and can offer "super bills" you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
Where's Your Office?
We're located right downtown on the Murfreesboro Public Square. Our office is "sandwiched" between Domenco's Deli, Holden Hardware, and Level III. Parking on the square is free. Feel free to grab a cup of coffee at Joanie's Coffee while you wait for your appointment!
